Child custody dispute may be of interest to Pennsylvania parents

Pennsylvania parents involved in child custody disputes may find a recent story interesting. The father of a child has been charged with extortion after he would not return the child to the mother unless she signed a contract he had written in order to keep the two of them from further appearances in family court. He pleaded not guilty and was released, but he was told he could not contact the mother unless they were discussing child care arrangements and that he had to adhere to court orders received in 2013 when both parents sought legal assistance with child custody matters.

Pennsylvania parents learn of historic child custody award

Pennsylvania residents may be interested to learn that history was made in the case of a child custody battle between a woman and the child welfare agency of the state where she lives. The two-year child custody battle is considered historic because the mother has a slight mental disability yet was ultimately given full custody of her daughter. The mother and her parents took their complaint of illegal discrimination to the federal level.

Pennsylvania father owes large sum in child support payments

A man who now lives in Pennsylvania owes thousands in back child support payments. He is facing a five-year period of probation, as well as having to pay the money he owes to the mother of the child. The ruling comes from a court in another state, as that is where he was living at the time of the original child support order.

Pennsylvania learns that social media can hurt custody dispute

Social media is seen by some Pennsylvania parents as good, others as bad. In the case of one man entangled in a child custody dispute with the mother of his 1-year-old baby, it turned out to be detrimental. Legal counsel for the mother could have the ammunition it needs when seeking certain conditions in the child custody argument.
